Dakota Territory Volume II No. 3 Spring 1971.                                                                                  This private cemetery was on the Miller Brothers ranch out of Reynolds Prairie and is now part of the area inundated by Deerfield Lake. Three of these are now interred in the Hill City Cemetery, Hill City, Pennington County, South Dakota. The ones I located are the adults: John A, Mrs. Josephine and Charles Miller. There are in the Miller Plot in Hill City Cemetery several childern's graves with no stones. This plot is quite large, holding several other family members.                                                 This little cemetery at Deerfield was organized about 1853 by John A. Miller and during the period preceding the inundation when Deerfield Lake was filled as far back as 1940, it was under the jurisdiction of Ed Miller, of Deerfield. At most it contained only these eight graves.
