Early in the history of the Rapid City Society for Genealogical Research, members went to most of the cemeteries in the area and did a ground reading. As a result the society published several books containing these readings. Others also did ground readings. We have reproduced several of these readings here. They go only as far as the date of the readings. For more current information go to Find A Grave. This is still a work in progress so check from time to time for new readings. We also plan to include information about the cemetery and its history. The value in those older ground readings is that some graves have now lost their markers but this is a record that they were there.
